Our WHY?
EMPOWERING AMBITIOUS YOUTH TO EMPOWER THEIR COMMUNITIES.
The F.A.M Project (TFP) will empower young, ambitious students by teaching them critical skill, real world sets through practical application. Our primary candidates are minorities and/or students from underserved communities, however, we are not limited to solely that demographic.
Working together the students will conceive of a project to impact an underserved community and execute it using the tools of creativity and entrepreneurship. In addition to the benefits received by the community, the students, through their work on the project, will also be equipped with skills for greater success in their future endeavors. These include learning to take an ambitious idea from concept to execution; identifying and overcoming obstacles; and working collaboratively and creatively with a team in a unique environment.
In short, this program:
Equips and empowers the students to develop critical real-world skill-sets which will perpetually benefit them
Provides a model for the students to use in other areas of work, life, and engagement
Directly contributes to the positive impact of underserved communities through the participants’ project
Creates a public forum and display to encourage and empower others to do the same
